Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police are searching for a man who fatally shot a puppy through a pillow on January 2. According to a release from the authorities, 32-year-old David Sumlin was arguing with the puppy’s owner before covering the pup with a pillow and firing a gun two times.
According to the news release, Sumlin said “it’s either you or the dog,” before firing into the pillow, killing the four-month-old pup. The police took the critically injured puppy to a veterinarian, but the wounds were too severe for survival.

Sumlin is described as a male Black with black hair and brown eyes. He stands six feet seven inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. Sumlin is a transient who frequents the area of 7th Street and Stanford Avenue in the Downtown Los Angeles area. The firearm used remains outstanding. If you see Sumlin, do not approach and contact 911.
