Leakey, Texas – A runaway giraffe in Texas has prompted the offering of a $5,000 reward for her safe return. The four-year-old giraffe, Gracie, disappeared from the Cedar Hollow Ranch near Leakey nearly two weeks ago.
The Real County Animal Shelter has been putting the word out on social media, writing:
The Cedar Hollow Ranch is missing a Giraffe named “Gracie”. She has rounded ears. Last seen on a game camera west of Leakey. The owner is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture and safe return of Gracie the Giraffe. Contact Vick Jones at 830-279-5822 or contact the Real County Sheriff’s Office at 830-232-5201.
While the situation is serious, Gracie’s disappearance has garnered some humorous posts on social media, especially regarding the “rounded ears” comments (as if there are a lot of giraffes just running around Texas?!).

And with the help of Ai, humorous images of Gracie have been circulating online.

All jokes aside, Gracie needs to be found. People are advised not to pursue her but report any leads to local officials. Contact Vick Jones at 830-279-5822 or contact the Real County Sheriff’s Office at 830-232-5201.
