King County, WA – A cruelty investigation is underway in rural King County after a family’s cows were fatally shot. As reported by King 5, Holly and Dustin Peterson lost a pregnant cow and a steer after someone shot them in the head.

The cows were found dead in the pasture on the morning of February 21 – both had been shot in the eye.

Holly Peterson tells the news agency:

“I want someone to get caught and pay for what they’ve done. This is not okay. And I never want to see this happen again. For someone to do this cold bloodedly, to leave them in a field is heartless and totally unnecessary.”

The couple has no idea why their cows were targeted.
