Victoria, BC – A litter of kittens was abandoned in a cardboard box that was left at the front door of the BC SPCA’s Victoria animal centre. According to the shelter, five four-week-old kittens were in the box…they could be heard crying out for their mom.
In a press release, the shelter said:
Luckily, they were found by one of the staff just minutes after they were abandoned based on security camera footage. Unfortunately, the person who abandoned the kittens and their vehicle were out of frame.
Emma Hamill, manager of the BC SPCA’s Victoria animal centre said:
“Thankfully, they were all healthy but too young to be away from their mom.”
Adding:
“The kittens continue to need syringe feeding until they are about eight-weeks-old when they can eat all they need on their own.”
The kittens are currently in foster homes and they will be ready for adoption in two weeks.
