Texas Family Finds Their Dog Dead Inside Home After Neighbor’s Dog Entered Through Dog Door

Baytown, TX – A dog named Zeke died in his family’s home after the neighbor’s dog entered through a dog door and killed him. As reported by Fox Houston, the horrifying incident happened on Dec. 6.

Enjoli Richardson describes the gutwrenching scene:

“My house looks like a crime scene. There’s blood from one end of the house to the other.”

The neighbor’s dog was still in the house when the family came home – the dog was lying in the corner not far from Zeke’s body.

The family’s other two dogs were in crates during the fatal ordeal…watching the bloodbath that took place right in front of them.

According to Richardson, the neighbors came to retrieve their dog; the dog was not seized by animal control and remains at home.

The Harris County Animal Control investigated and determined that no laws were broken.

The neighbors claim that it was Zeke who broke through a fence board, allowing their dog to enter the yard. Harris County Public Health issued a statement to the news agency, which reads in part:

Unfortunately, there is no current state or local law that penalizes an owner of a dog that attacks or kills another animal. The Dangerous Dog Law applies to humans who have been attacked by a dog or to a dog whose unprovoked behavior may reasonably be deemed dangerous. A victim will need to file a Dangerous Dog affidavit through a Justice of the Peace in unincorporated Harris County to initiate the legal process, if they wish to do so.

  1. What a sad, tragic thing to happen. I would hope that at least the neighbors offered to pay something to the grieving family.

    • According to the story the other family doesn’t really have any remorse. They’re actually blaming Zeke’s family. I guess they think they and their dog can do whatever they want to whomever.

  2. This is a horrible thing for the Zeke and the trauma witnessed by the other dogs, let alone the family. Someone should euthanize the perpetrator dog as IT IS A SERIOUS DANGER!!! Imagine if all three dogs were free roam for this monster dog!! Typical TEXAS laws that don’t exist!!! The most twisted and deranged, dangerous state in ALL OF USA for both humans and especially animals!!!

  3. So it’s okay for a dog to trespass onto your property and kill your pets and there’s no legal recourse or punishment for the guilty dog’s owner? That makes no sense. The owner of the dead dog needs to sue their neighbor who allowed their dog to free roam and do whatever they need to do to have that dangerous dog seized and put down. It’s obviously a dog you wouldn’t want to have roaming loose in a neighborhood with children and other pets.

  4. So bizarre and awful! People with violent dogs should of course NEVER allow them to run loose. The “owners” should be held responsible. They sure would be facing consequences if the dog killed some pedo or other “human” scumbag. But a dog victim is considered lower than even those, by scumbags anyways.

  5. The owners of the killer dog are wrong and are clearly liars based on the video. They want to blame Zeke but their dog is shown to be responsible. I don’t want any dog to suffer for having bad guardians but the other dog needs to be taken away, see if he can be rehabilitated and if not, put to sleep 💔 I feel for the woman’s niece who no longer has her dog. They need to close the dog door to protect the other 2 dogs and repair the fence.
