Orange County, FL – A woman cried as she kissed her two beloved cats behind, leaving them at the Orange County Animal Services facility because she could no longer care for them. Albert Harris, staff photographer, explains that the shelter was the last resort:
“I’m so sorry, my living situation is unstable & I cannot provide for these cats anymore” This is the reason why Bruce & Peter are at the shelter. This is their story.
In mid-August, an owner came into our shelter & surrendered this pair to us for the reason above. She added that she did everything she could, but no one was interested in these cats. She posted multiple times to rescue Facebook groups but never got one single reply. She then tried rescues, but everyone claimed they were full.
Peter and Bruce lived with their owner for five years…since they were just kittens. Now, the only home and only guardian they ever knew are gone. They are confused, sad, and frightened.
Harris writes:
Now these babies are homeless, wondering if they will ever be loved again. They hide in a corner, keeping each other company as people walk by. They are timid & run away at a moments notice, should someone come up to them. Besties they are just 5 years old & deserve a warm home instead of being in a cold dark kennel.
Please share Bruce and Peter’s adoption information. They have done nothing wrong, and they deserve the chance to live out their life with a new owner who will love and cherish them.
