Mission Viejo, CA – The Mission Viejo Animal Services agency is hoping that a member of the public will assist them in identifying the person who abandoned an injured cat in a dumpster on Monday. The cat, dubbed Willow, was left in a dumpster near the 25000 block of Cabot Road in Laguna Hills.
According to the city agency, the cat was not discovered for nearly 15 hours and just “minutes” before the dumpster was scheduled for collection.
Willow is being treated for “extensive injuries,” but she is expected to survive. Despite her trauma, she remains affectionate to veterinary staff, and she seeks comfort from those who are caring for her.
