Shelter Overwhelmed With Intake Of Puppy Mill Dogs

Las Vegas, NV – A Nevada animal shelter is past critical capacity after taking in dozens of dogs and puppies from a breeder. The Animal Foundation said that 38 dogs from one home, including a nursing mom with her four puppies, and four pregnant dogs, were rescued earlier this week, pushing the number of animals in their care to over 850.

The non-profit organization said:

Our kennels are full, and we are now using emergency pop-up kennels to temporarily house dogs in our community center.

The agency said that the dogs recently seized are not available for adoption yet:

These dogs are not currently available for foster or adoption due to a legal hold, but we have 249 dogs at The Animal Foundation waiting for foster or adoptive homes today.

And a request for foster assistance:

“Fill out a foster application before you arrive: https://bit.ly/3nNZhH6
If you fall in love with your foster dog, we will waive the adoption fee and process the adoption paperwork remotely. This is an urgent situation, Las Vegas, and we desperately need your help.”
