Maui, Hawaii – This afternoon, I stumbled upon one of the saddest videos I have seen in quite some time. It was not an abuse video, or a neglect video, but rather something all too common and perhaps that is why it makes it even harder to watch.
Digital creator Cassondra Christman shared a video of 10-year-old Ziggy, a dog at the Maui Humane Society. Ziggy has been patiently waiting for someone to take notice of her…anyone – but nobody seems to care about the pretty senior girl with the gently wagging tail.
Ziggy’s kennel was gussied up, and she was given a pretty pink collar and dress with the hope that it might attract some attention – sadly, nobody cared. Not even with Ziggy’s pretty outfit. Ziggy is kenneled near puppies, and all of the potential adopters are drawn to them – not her.

Ziggy was a puppy not too long ago. Just a blink ago, Ziggy was the pudgy puppy that everyone wanted to see. But now, she is forgotten and overlooked.
You can watch Ziggy’s video on Facebook (unable to share here because of the creator’s privacy settings).
According to Ziggy’s adoption profile, she is as wonderful as she appears to be:
Hi, I’m Ziggy! I’m a super friendly girl who loves everyone I meet. If you’ve got treats, we’re already best friends – I’m always ready for a snack and some love! I have a sweet, happy personality and enjoy spending time with my favorite people. Now I’m looking for a loving home where I can relax, be spoiled, and spend the rest of my days surrounded by love. If you’re searching for a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger love for treats, I might just be your perfect match!
Ziggy has been homeless since April. Please help her find a home to spend the twilight of her life in – with someone who will love her unconditionally. Please click here to learn more about adoption at Maui Humane.

Note: All inquiries about this dog must be made directly to Maui Humane Society.

I hope precious Ziggy will find a safe and loving home soon!
She’s BEAUTIFUL! So she’s older, so what? Give her a good home and a good life, and whenever she passes, give love to another senior dog.
I do this with birds – I adopt all senior birds. It’s such a wonderful thing to do and if yuo’re older yuorself, it’s a perfect match.
Hoping Ziggy finds her forever home soon.
Seniors are the best. She has so much love to give. Sad the world is such a cruel place that dogs end up in this situation. Bless you Ziggy.
Poor ziggy such a lovely girl. Please someone adopt her
I shared this precious girl on Facebook. I pray that her person comes along very, very soon!!!!
I would love to make her a part of my family…unfortunately I live in Ohio and cannot afford to come to Hawaii. If someone wants to bring her to Ohio I would gladly make the rest of her know what true dog love is💚😞
