Reward Offered After Kids Smash Goose Nest with Bricks

New Orleans, Louisiana – A $750 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals who purposefully destroyed a Canadian Goose nest with bricks. The Humane Society of Louisiana is offering the reward to help find the young people who pummeled the next in Armstrong Park on March 29.

Shannon Fletcher, a good Samaritan who witnessed the shocking abuse, managed to scare the kids away, but not before they destroyed the nest and three eggs, and injured the mother goose. The one egg that managed to escape being destroyed never hatched.

Canadian Geese are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) a landmark U.S. law created to protect migratory bird species. The MBTA makes it illegal to hunt, capture, kill, sell, or possess migratory birds, their nests, or their eggs without a permit, even if it’s unintentional. Under the MBTA, it is illegal to disturb, remove, or destroy an active nest without proper authorization from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).

Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the Humane Society at 1-888-6-HUMANE.

Those little monsters r psychopaths! Their pattern always begins with animals. There was absolutely no reason to attack this poor mama & kill all of her babies, other than these sick f*cks enjoyed it. I’m certain this was not their first act of violence & cruelty, nor will it be their last! Incarceration is the ONLY safe option, for them & absolutely for the community! Plz charge these brats & enforce the maximum sentence, please!🙏🏽RIP baby geese!🙏🏽🥰😭💔🌈U never had a chance to live any of ur life, thanks to these future (human) murderers.👿

  2. Something severely wrong with so many individuals today. The parents also need to be held accountable for raising such little wankers! Those poor geese, losing their babies. It is as much heartbreaking and devestating as it is unfathomable infuriating!

  3. Maybe the parents should re-think their so-called “parenting.” Maybe they need to spend some more time with their kids and teach them and nurture them and ADVISE AND DIRECT them NOT NOT NOT NOT TO HARM ANIMALS OR DESTROY ANYTHING!

  4. These are not children, but unscrupulous monsters.
I had beaten them with their mindless heads.
Educational institutions should be set up for these vermin and teach respact for all living things!
They are far too weak and afraid to harm the delicate children’s souls.
For me the buck in it!

  5. Poor geese. these kids are horrible human beings. Obvious were not brought up properly. Maybe juvenile detention will fix that!
