Man Arrested For Leaving Tethered Dog To Die Outside In Extreme Heat

Laredo, Texas – Police have arrested a 21-year-old man who left his dog tethered outside, without shade or water, in extreme heat, causing the dog’s death. On April 10, as the temperature soared to 100-degrees, Laredo Police responded to a report of possible animal cruelty at a home on Cortez Street.

Officers found a deceased dog on the ground in the intense sun.  The brown dog was secured to a tether and had no food, water, or access to shade. The authorities arrested Luis Enrique Escalón for animal cruelty.

During the investigation, officers found more neglected dogs in Escalón’s home – one dog was confined to a small cage filled with feces. As reported by KGNS News, the surviving dogs were seized by animal control.

The investigation is ongoing – it is unclear what will happen to the surviving animals seized from Escalón’s home.

  1. Any humanoid waste that mistreats or kills animals should be put down.
Has no value on this earth and should be destroyed and then thrown in the gross garbage!!!Then the world would look better for all animals.

  2. This piece of shit has no place in our world. If the courts had the balls to terminate these bastards then I guarantee animal torture and murder would soon stop as these ‘ motherfucks’ are just cowards who will only torture innocent animals that will not fight back! Bloody perps know nothing much is going to happen to them so they do not give a toss. But if they knew they were going to die then they would crap themselves in fright. Street Justice needed here most definitely .
Would I do it? Have I done it? My answer is ‘YES’ to both questions!!
