Orange County, FL – Somone abandoned a caged puppy in the path of Hurricane Milton, which is currently closing in on Florida. Thanks to good Samaritans, the puppy’s life was spared.
In a social media post, photographer Albert Harris recounted the heartbreaking situation, writing:
Someone just dumped a puppy on the side of the road in a crate right before Hurricane Milton is supposed to hit Florida. Luckily for this puppy, good Samaritans found him in time & took him into the shelter. I’m literally shocked why my fellow humans are this way but here we are.
The puppy was transported to Orange County Animal Services where he was scanned for a microchip.
Though no chip was found, the puppy is safe and will be cared for by staff at the animal shelter who are staying on site to care for the homeless pets during the storm.
When things have returned to normal, this pup, dubbed Milton by staff, will need a home.
