Man Saves Kitten From Waste Compactor

Burlington, NJ – An employee with the Burlington County Regional Recycling Program is credited with saving the life of a kitten who was in his waste compactor. According to Rise Again Animal Rescue, the kitten, dubbed Squishy, was covered in oil when Mark Motta discovered her.

As reported by Fox News, it is a mystery how the kitten got into the compactor, and it is a miracle that she was found before the unthinkable happened. Motta told the news agency, “it’s routine to check to make sure everything is working, normally, we don’t look through the truck just to make sure everything works,” adding, “I don’t know why I did it differently that time, to be honest.”

It took some Dawn soap to get Squishy cleaned up; she is now being fostered. This lucky little girl is described as “sweet and a cuddler.”

The rescue agency said, “The company safety officer brought her to the vet and has been fostering her ever since. Squishy has been doing well after her adventures, and came back to the office today to officially meet her savior! We don’t know how Squishy ended up in the recycling bin, but we are so glad she’s safe!”
