Lancaster Township, Pennsylvania – Jocelyn James of Lancaster Township is facing multiple charges following the June 9 rescue of 78 Ragdoll cats and kittens from her Lancaster County home. According to the Pennsylvania SPCA, conditions inside the residence were deplorable.
In a social media post, the animal welfare agency wrote:
But the conditions they were living in before are difficult to comprehend.
When our Animal Law Enforcement team arrived at a home in Lancaster County yesterday, they were met with overwhelming heat, dangerously high ammonia levels, and rooms filled with waste, debris, and trash stacked from floor to ceiling.

On September 30, the PSPCA filed 13 animal-cruelty charges and 78 animal-neglect charges against Jocelyn James. The animal shelter helped the seized cats recover from their ordeal and they were adopted to new homes.

This woman needs to be held accountable for the suffering of these poor cats. She needs to spend some time behind bars and never be allowed near animals again. She has proven that she has no respect for the lives of other living beings.
Breeders and hoarders need to be stopped and one way to begin doing that is to make the price for abusing, hoarding and indiscriminate breeding a costly thing, huge fines and jail terms for all three offenses. This woman should also have to pay for the vet for all 78 animals; animal shelters are horribly underfunded and knowing you’ll pay the vet bill instead of the public paying might be a deterrent.

Surprising anyone in Amish country would even care
That is despicable! These stupid backyard breeders don’t care anything about the animals just the profit. She should have her license revoked that is if she even has one. She needs to be put on the list of people not allowed to be around animals. she’s lost that right. Ragdoll‘s are beautiful and a gentle breed. So sad to see any animal suffer in such filth.
