Lancaster Township, Pennsylvania – Jocelyn James of Lancaster Township is facing multiple charges following the June 9 rescue of 78 Ragdoll cats and kittens from her Lancaster County home. According to the Pennsylvania SPCA, conditions inside the residence were deplorable.
In a social media post, the animal welfare agency wrote:
But the conditions they were living in before are difficult to comprehend.
When our Animal Law Enforcement team arrived at a home in Lancaster County yesterday, they were met with overwhelming heat, dangerously high ammonia levels, and rooms filled with waste, debris, and trash stacked from floor to ceiling.

On September 30, the PSPCA filed 13 animal-cruelty charges and 78 animal-neglect charges against Jocelyn James. The animal shelter helped the seized cats recover from their ordeal and they were adopted to new homes.
