Las Vegas, NV – A puppy is safe after someone abandoned him in a plastic box that was left in a shopping cart at a Las Vegas Walmart last week. As reported by WABI News, a worker at the store noticed a group of people gathered in the store’s parking lot.
The store employee, Shamar Shapiro, walked over to see what the commotion was about. He discovered a black box with a yellow lid…the box held a puppy who was trying to poke his nose out.
After comforting the pup, Shapiro called his mom for assistance. She was able to take the puppy to a veterinarian and then contacted a non-profit rescue group to take the abandoned pup in.
Crazy4Pawz Animal Rescue took the puppy under its wing and named him Sammy. On Sept. 21, the agency said:
*Sammy went into a foster home that will be adopting him after his 30-day hold• (Foster-to-Adopt Contract until his neuter)
Welcome Puppy to Crazy4Pawz.
The puppy is currently on a 30-day stray hold. The police are investigating to find out who abandoned him at the retail store.
