Cedartown, Georgia – Days ago, police entered the pasture where a donkey named HeeHaw lived. Tragically, the officers believed the donkey posed a threat and fatally shot him after first using a taser.
HeeHaw’s owner, Hannah Israel, created a Facebook post about her donkey’s death, explaining:
At 12:45 am cops entered my pasture searching for a missing person WITHOUT permission or warning and shot and killed my bottle raised baby donkey.
They claimed he ran up to them braying and they thought they were in danger and shot and killed him after trying to taze him.
Adding:
HeeHaw was raised in the house and did petting zoos he never knew a stranger. And was shot and killed in his OWN pasture for doing what donkeys do. Alerting to a stranger. There is no way this is legal! I will be taking legal action.
Following HeeHaw’s death, the Cedartown Police Department released a statement about the incident:
STATEMENT FROM THE CITY OF CEDARTOWN
The Cedartown Police Department is aware that a city police officer shot and killed a donkey in the early hours of Sunday morning. A Cedartown police officer was on the scene after being called by Polk County Police to assist with a nighttime search for a missing child. The child had not been found at of the time of the shooting. Thankfully, the child was later located at a church near the pasture where the donkey was killed. The Cedartown Police Department has turned over the investigation of the animal shooting to the Georgia Department of Agriculture Law Enforcement Division for investigation and placed the officer involved on paid administrative leave while this investigation is ongoing.

If anyone remembers some time back, another ‘gun- happy Killer Cop was called out to investigate a little dog acting strangely! On arrival, it was stated that he saw a little dog turning around in circles, and disorientated, deemed it to be dangerous so the bastard shot and killed it. On inspection the little dog was found to be blind and had somehow escaped from its garden!
I wonder if this was the same bastard that shot the pet donkey? Quite possible I would think although there are many of these gun-happy sods who hide their killer instincts behind a badge.
No doubt closed ranks again to protect their own and as long as they are not killing humans then that’s Ok.
These sick-brained cops need putting in a wheelchair for the rest of the buggers life! Or complete termination would. be better so they would not do it again.

SHOCKING and beyond belief that a grown man could be so stupid! He has serious issues if he thinks a happy baby Donkey is a treat. HeeHaw was probably advancing to greet him, either way if his first reaction was to shoot without pausing to be sure then he is likely to do it again, Trigger happy police have done this kind of thing before I have read, murdering family pets for not reason. It has to STOP and if training is the issue do better training. When a testosterone fueled man with a gun encounters danger in the form of a small donkey, he’s afraid for his life and has to shoot it for the good of humanity. This guy needs more training to make the distinction between a human who might very well shoot back and a donkey whose only fault was to be in that guy’s way. What punishment is enough? To demonstrate to the public that animal life (other than humans) matters, he should lose his job (won’t happen), be jailed (won’t happen), and provide restitution and an apology to the family (seriously doubt that will happen either). Meanwhile, anyone with a pet or even to a wild animal, this will probably happen again in his career.
