Johnson City, TN – In late August 13 wolf-hybrids were removed from a neglectful situation following a police investigation. On Sept. 14, the Washington County Johnson City Animal Shelter updated Facebook followers with the status and condition of the seized dogs, writing:
The dogs are extremely under weight and are currently under the care of our veterinarians.
The dogs will NOT be available for adoption and they are not available to foster.
The shelter is working with multiple wolf sanctuaries across the nation to secure appropriate care for them. According to WJHL, six wolf dogs have been placed so far.
According to the shelter, the animal cruelty case against the dogs’ former owner is ongoing and the information they are able to release is limited.
Donations for their care can be made to the shelter at this link.
