Update 3/25/2026: Melrose Park Neglected Dogs has updated their post about Aggie! “I have confirmation and permission from the Director of BARC to post that Houston Pets Alive has tagged our park boy Aggie and he left the shelter and is under veterinary care (thank you HPA!❤️).”
Houston, Texas – An emaciated, senior German shepherd is desperately in need of help in Houston, Texas. The nine-year-old dog, dubbed Aggie, was taken in at the BARC Animal Shelter on March 24 and a rescue group is needed to save his life.
On Wednesday morning, the Melrose Park Neglected Dogs Facebook page wrote:
BARC Animal Shelter here in Houston has put out the plea for Aggie the Shepherd found at Melrose yesterday on Aggie Lane. Please keep sharing for a rescue.
This emaciated dog’s history is unknown, but it is clear that he has been horribly neglected. According to shelter notes, not only is he starved, but he is “high” heartworm positive.
Aggie urgently needs help if he stands any chance of living out the rest of his life. He has suffered enough – please help him by sharing the information below with the hope that a rescue agency can take him in.

YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HUMAN FILTH. YOU DISGUSTING MAGGOT, YOU SICKEN ME AND YOU DESERVE SO MUCH WORSE FOR WHAT YOU DID TO AGGIE. PRISON TIME FOR THIS POS. GET SERIOUS ABOUT PUNISHING ANIMAL CRUELTY OFFENDERS; OTHERWISE IT WILL JUST KEEP HAPPENING.
Any sub human that abuses & neglects animals are vile demonic POS!!! We need an eye for an eye….or start public hangings. THESE SUB HUMANS NEVER CHANGE!!!
I am heart broken after seeing this poor dog the people responsible should be held on felony animal abuse never to have an animal in their care again and honestly, they shouldn’t see the light a day. This is a horrible case of cruelty
Thank God that poor dog has been rescued and is under care. He has a chance now for a better life!
Whoever did this to this dog deserves to go to jail for a long time…They suck! That poor animal has been starved for months! People need to reap what they sow. We are too lenient on this type of behavior.
It needs to hurt in their wallet and their freedom.
Ja, rädda Aggie och se till att han får all tänkbar vård, hjälp och omtanke.
Hoppas att han sedan kan komma till ett hem där han får mycket kärlek.
Sänder mirakler.
Vänligen,
Marie
