Shelter Takes In Homeless Pets Evacuated From Wildlife And Flood Areas

Albuquerque, NM – A New Mexico animal shelter is inundated with animals after taking in displaced pets from shelters in areas impacted by wildfires and floods. Animal Humane New Mexico took in pets from Humane Society of Lincoln County when Ruidoso, New Mexico, was overtaken by deadly wildfires, and most recently, added 27 cats and kittens from a shelter in Las Vegas after the area was impacted by floods.

The community has been reaching out to see if they are able to assist the inundated shelter with the unexpected influx of homeless pets. People in the area can help by volunteering, adopting, or fostering. People out of the area can make a donation to help provide food and veterinary care to the homeless pets.

You can follow the shelter on Facebook at this link.
