Skiatook, OK – A senior German shepherd has finally been given a meal and a warm place to sleep after spending two months by the side of his deceased owner. According to Skiatook Paws & Claws Animal Rescue, the dog, Jones, was discovered by sheriff’s deputies this week.
In a Tuesday Facebook post, the rescue agency recounted the heartbreaking situation, writing:
For possibly two months this old man set with his old man, who had passed away. This evening, deputies discovered him and asked us to take.
Jones is severely underweight, and has immense trouble standing.
The rescue agency is hoping to get donations for Jones’ veterinary care, and a foster home to take the senior dog in. You can learn more at this link to the rescue group’s Facebook page.
