Jacksonville, NC – A huge, 10-foot-long, 400-pound alligator was apprehended in North Carolina after he was caught loitering near the double yellow line on Old 30 Road. The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office recounted the gator’s capture in a witty Facebook post, explaining how “Pepe the Gator” was ignoring the “no loitering or lounging on roadways” sign.

Deputies in Onslow County and officers with NC Wildlife Resources Commission wrangled this prehistoric perp and he was “cited for Suspicion of Being a Dinosaur Without Proper Papers, Public Loitering with Intent to Sunbathe, and Obstructing Traffic.”
Pepe was safely relocated, and nobody was hurt in the process. The authorities advised those curious that Pepe did NOT ride shotgun when he was relocated.
