Auburn Hills, Mich. – A deer is alive today thanks to the efforts of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and search and rescue team members. The four-point deer was trapped between cement barriers on Interstate 75 after being struck by a vehicle. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a driver reported the life-or-death situation to the Auburn Hills police on the afternoon of October 13.
The Sheriff’s Office posted images of the rescue effort on Monday, writing:
In the midst of a busy day, our search and rescue team responded to a call regarding a deer trapped in cement barricades, facing a fatal outcome without expert extraction.

With the help of the county’s search and rescue team, and a special technical truck, the deer was extricated from the cement barriers.

Thanks to the rescuer’s expertise and diligence, the young deer was safely transported to a wildlife rehabilitation center.
