York, PA – The man facing charges for beating a German shepherd so severely that the dog lost consciousness has died in a car crash. According to sources, Terrell D. Harris, 36, died in the early morning hours last Friday in a crash on Interstate 83 in Newberry Township.
Harris was out on bail from York County Prison for two different criminal cases – one of those cases was the aggravated animal cruelty incident in August 2023 involving the shepherd puppy, Chance. The puppy suffered multiple injuries in the beating, including permanent blindness in one eye, loss of teeth, a concussion, and jaw fractures.
Chance recovered from his injuries and was ultimately adopted by Officer Matthew Tamanosky, one of the officers present when Chance was found after the beating.
A passenger in the vehicle with Harris survived the crash and was taken to an area hospital for treatment; the passenger’s name was not released.

No good if he didn’t suffer, though. 😥😿 Still, who knows how many animals would have died if he lived. 🤔👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
