Raeford, NC – A dog who was set out with the trash in Hoke County has been adopted. The dog, dubbed Moe-Moe, was in a crate on Sept. 7 – he was left sitting with piles of garbage meant for trash pickup. Thankfully the waste management employees called animal control for help, and gave him water while they waited for officials to arrive.
According to the Assisting the Hoke Co. Animal Shelter in Raeford, NC Facebook page, the shelter was able to obtain some information about Moe-Moe:
He has previously lived with 3 other dogs with a previous owner (to clarify…not this last home. There are no more dogs) and in this last home lived with children and did great with them. He’s housebroken, walks great on leash
But the bad times are behind Moe-Moe. The shelter was excited to share word of his adoption with Facebook followers this week:
We’re happy to announce that he got a wonderful home today. His new mom is the sweetest and has already sent me some updates ♥️ He’s already enjoying his big beautiful backyard and his new home.

What happen to the asshole owner that abandoned this dog? I want to see them criminally prosecuted, be fined, spend time behind bars and be banned from ever owning another pet. This poor dog is a living breathing creature not trash. Please offer a reward to find the person that did this. Heartless bastard.

WE SHOULD START GARNISHING THE OWNERS PAYCHECKS FOR ALL DOGS THAT ARE ABUSED, ABANDONED, DUMPED. THE GARNISHMENT MONEY SHOULD GO TO A SHELTER WHERE THE DOG WAS DUMPED. EVERY STATE, TOWN AND LOCAL COMMUNITY SHOULD SET THIS IN PLACE. JUDGES ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOBS

That ass of an owner needs to be put in a crate and set on the curb with the stinkiest trash possible for a week for every hour that dog was in that crate, with only enough food or water to keep him alive and suffer!

I agree with Donna, so many people would have just opened the gate or worse…I hope they find the owner and deal with them legally. i do have to say people dumping animals rather then take to shelter, because Now the shelters charge for owners to surrender. I understand why they do that, but it has created more dumped animals…of just left behind to starve.
They could have taken their dog to a Shelter. Even if there is a surrender fee and too cheap to pay it, they can say he/she is a stray they found (no fee).
No excuse for dumping a pet like trash. Authorities can find out where they moved and charge them with abandonment. I am a rescuer and so disgusted with the human race!

The people who left him there knew it could be his death sentence. Thank God for the person who saved him. Felony animal abuse for the previous people who abandoned him in the trash!

The filth that did this should be dragged from their hovel and thrown into the back of the garbage truck and then activate it immediately so that said filth is mixed in with all the other trash !!!
