Philadelphia, PA – An elderly dog, abandoned in a “house of horrors,” is in need of a loving home where she can learn what life is like as a treasured companion. The senior dog, Chessie, was rescued after the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department received a complaint about conditions at a home.
The Pennsylvania SPCA went to the residence and discovered dismal conditions. The agency explains the horror inside:
The home was filled with trash, excrement, barely any food or water, and heartbreakingly, several deceased animals. Inside, too, was Chessie, a 12-year-old boxer/Weimaraner mix.
Describing Chessie’s state of neglect:
Chessie had a severe flea infestation, her ears were dirty, her gait stiff, and she had mammary masses. She was so very nervous during her examination that she had to be sedated to get the full picture.
Prior to being rescued, Chessie endured suffering that no animal should endure. Now, she is safe and healthy, and she needs a loving home where she will be spoiled and pampered for what remains of her life.
Please share Chessie’s story and help her find a loving home!
