Memphis, TN – A cat is safe and warm, despite being abandoned by a heartless person who left him outside a restaurant amidst freezing temperatures in Memphis. Elwood’s Shack blasted the cruel person for leaving the cat in the cold, writing:
Please don’t abandoned your pet at Midnight. Wait for morning and take it to a shelter please. It was cold as heck this morning! What is wrong with you?
A video shows dark colored car; someone opens the door and puts the crated cat outside, leaving him in the ice-covered parking lot.
According to WREG News, it was just 20-degrees when the cat was found. Rustina Koenig, who has offered to adopt the cat, said:
“It’s absolutely absurd that anybody would abandon anything. It was freezing.”
A couple saw the crated cat in the parking lot and moved it closer to the restaurant to keep it from getting hit, telling restaurant staff that they could not take the cat home. The abandoned cat was taken inside for a warm meal and free fish-tank “entertainment.”
The abandoned feline was taken to a veterinarian who estimates his age at just a year. Though the cat appears to have a neurological disorder, he is expected to live a long life.
