Kittson County, Minnesota – A woman got an unexpected hitchhiker on the grille of her truck on October 19. According to sources, Cindy Vagle was driving to church on Highway 59 when she spotted a bald eagle on the side of the road – the huge bird flew towards her and she heard a thump, but she had no idea the eagle got stuck on her truck’s grille.
An hour later, when Vagle stopped, she made the shocking discovery. The majestic bird was very much alive and hanging off the front of her vehicle – feet securely stuck in the grille.
Vagle knew better than to try and remove the eagle herself and instead, had the assistance of a Department of Natural Resources officer who arrived an hour later to safely free the bird.
Despite the harrowing ordeal, the eagle appeared to be unhurt and was released to the wild.
