Bandon, OR -The owner of the West Coast Game Park Safari has been indicted on more than 300 counts of animal neglect following an investigation and search warrant execution earlier this year. According to sources, 52-year-old Brian Tenney was arrested after a raid at the safari property revealed neglectful conditions for the animals, and the presence of drugs and guns.
As reported by CBS News, “police said they found 80 grams of methamphetamine, 44 firearms, including one modified into a machine gun, approximately 8 grams of cocaine and $1.6 million in cash, cashier’s checks, bonds and certificates.”
Over 300 animals were removed from the safari after it was closed down. Some of the animals had to be euthanized because they were in such poor conditions – most were relocated to other rescues and sanctuaries.
On August 19, a grand jury indicted Tenney on 371 charges, including 327 felonies. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has already bonded out of jail.
