Las Vegas, Nevada – A judge has approved a release plan for a 29-year-old woman accused of harming a duckling on the Las Vegas strip. In June, Destiny Reyes was captured on video repeatedly throwing a duckling that she allegedly plucked from a fountain at Venetian Hotel & Casino.
As reported by Fox Vegas, surveillance video showed Reyes throwing the duckling back and forth between her hands over 50 times, in addition to shaking, dropping on the concrete, and striking the duckling. Reyes was also observed forcefully stretching the young bird’s wings.
Police arrested Reyes, who was described as “uncooperative,” and unremorseful at the time she was apprehended. Police noted that the woman also refused to discuss the incident.
The duckling, known as Daffy, was injured and shaking following the cruel incident – officers noted that one of her wings was too painful to touch.
Timeline
June 15: Bail set at $7,500, with house arrest and a condition that she not possess or be around animals.
July 2: She pleaded not guilty and was still in custody on the $7,500 bail. Trial was initially reported as scheduled for September 8.
August 6: Judge denied her motion to dismiss the felony charge.
August 11: Judge approved modified release conditions, but she was still physically in the Clark County Detention Center according to jail records. The court is also dealing with her possible admission to an inpatient treatment facility.
August 25: Next court date/status check.
Daffy’s condition following the attack has not been publicly disclosed. Police recovered the duck and Nevada Department of Wildlife assisted with identifying and assessing her, but authorities have not publicly identified where she was taken for care or provided a subsequent medical update.

Fire that heartless judge immediately, I’m just so shocked and saddened that some people can behave in such an awful manner. The evil woman deserves jail time and I hope there’s a lot of ANIMAL lovers in jail.

Next time anyone complains about crime or abuse whether human or animal should first consider voting for individuals who are decent, animal friendly & against any type of crime. One step at a time. In turn, appropriate & just people will be appointed to respective positions. Our current justice system is failing among other things. It’s time we make smart and decent decisions and not be passive or passive the buck and not vote.
