Brooklyn, NY – An affectionate dog named Ocean was recently surrendered by her owner, who left shelter staff with a touching note that outlines the dog’s many attributes. On Wednesday, Boroughbred in Brooklyn, a volunteer-run Facebook page, wrote:
In an ideal world no dog is surrendered to a shelter. But since that world doesn’t exist, the next best is that they were loved and adored until the day they arrive. And every so often a guardian leaves notes so loving that my heart aches for both dog and human.
Sharing the note which reads:
Ocean is described by her former guardian as quiet, social, and affectionate. She is said to understand when told “I love you.” She gets nervous during car rides. She loves taking a bath when the water is warm.
She doesn’t care much for toys, but loves to listen to Gospel music when she sleeps and enjoys belly rubs. Ocean’s favorite snacks are apples and carrots, and she prefers to spend her time where her family is.
Her guardian’s favorite thing about her is how loving she is.
Ocean is a sprightly senior, 11 years of age. She has spent time with kids (ages 2 to 7), and other dogs. She walks nicely on a leash and still enjoys going for walks each day. Shelter staff noted that she solicits affection and that she was “wiggly and wagging” at intake.
It is clear that Ocean’s former guardian adored her. Please help this sweet girl find a new home with someone who will love her just as much.
Ocean is waiting to meet you at Brooklyn ACC. Her ID is #8829.
