Fort Worth, TX – An even-tempered dog who loves to snuggle is facing certain euthanasia if he is returned to the shelter. His name is Canelo and he was attacked by a dog at his foster home…now an immediate NEW foster home is needed (or an adopter) or he will be sent back to the Fort Worth Animal Care & Control facility where he will be immediately euthanized – even though he has done nothing wrong.
On Thursday morning, the Code Red Animals of FWACC Facebook page said:
former last call/code red dog needs a new foster or adopter TODAY to avoid being returned to the shelter and euthanized immediately.
According to volunteers, Canelo is so even-tempered that he was used to dog test other homeless dogs when he was at the shelter. The group shares Canelo’s glowing attributes:
He is house broken, crate trained, good with teenagers. Loves …to snuggle, car rides, and walks. He’s been an easy foster!
This handsome dog is just a year of age. He should have years of life ahead of him, but through no fault of his own, he may be euthanized soon. Please help prevent that from happening by sharing his story.
If you are interested in saving this boy’s life which will also keep an open kennel at the shelter, please email fwaccfoster@fortworthtexas.gov with his ID. Canelo #A0052349434 is 1 year old, 59 lbs, neutered male.
