Auburn, Washington – Late last week, someone abandoned 18 sick cats and kittens outside a door of the Auburn Valley Humane Society. According to the animal welfare agency, the ailing felines were left outside a side door on Friday.
The shelter acknowledged that families are currently struggling, and explained how abandoning pets makes the process more difficult, writing:
We know many families are facing real challenges right now. Access to spay and neuter services can be limited, veterinary care is expensive, and situations can feel urgent and overwhelming.
Because of limited space and medical capacity, there are times when we must schedule intakes or ask community members to hold onto pets a bit longer while we prepare to bring them in safely. We also prioritize animals within our local jurisdiction so we can best serve our community.
Leaving animals without going through the intake process means we lose critical information about their history and health. That can slow treatment, increase stress for the animals, and delay recovery and adoption. Intake conversations and paperwork aren’t barriers — they help us provide faster, more complete care and explore resources when available.

The cats and kittens in our care today are sick and require intensive support. Warmth is critical, especially for fragile kittens. Our primary need at this time are for heating discs and incubators.

There’s no excuse for this 18 cats that’s been going on for a while… stop letting them breed for starters… there’s plenty of organizations that can help out with that but you choose to abandon them when they’re sick and need care the most… you are a disgusting person and I hope you rot in hell!
