Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania woman who abandoned her dog at the Pittsburgh International Airport in August 2023 has been sentenced after pleading guilty and agreeing to the terms of a plea deal. The 46-year-old nurse, Allison Lyn Gaiser, abandoned her French bulldog in the airport’s short term parking lot after an airline told her that dog did not have the necessary carrier needed for him to join her on the flight to Mexico.
Rather than rescheduling her trip, Gaiser abandoned her dog in a stroller. She was later arrested when she returned to the airport a week later; the dog’s microchip aided the authorities in identifying her.
Gaiser claimed that she told her mom to come to the airport to get the dog and take him to the pound, stating that she would reclaim her pet from the facility when she returned from vacation. Text messages from Gaiser’s mother revealed that she did not approve of her daughter’s intention to abandon the dog, telling Gaiser that she was “not above the law.”
After pleading guilty and accepting a plea deal, Gaiser’s charges of neglect and animal cruelty were dropped. She was fined $150 and ordered to pay about $350 in court costs.

Yes I also want to know what happened to this unloved dog please!!!! She is a hooligan killler with innocent blood on her hands. She also needs to leave nursing to those who save lives not kill lives!!! This is a monumental tragedy!!! What happened to the dog??? Is he alive???
I never thought a situation wouId arise where the first thing I’d think when seeing this wouId be: “At Ideas she didn’t drown him in the airport restroom..”
This section needs an editing and/or deleting feature. I wrote “Ieast” and the computer decided to change it to “Ideas.” Ruined the message.
Scary to think that this selfish, uncaring woman hold the life of patients in her hands. If I were her employer I would certainly rethink her employment. The nurse licensing board in her state also needs to think about if this is the kind of person they want to represent nurses in that state…I think not.
Where is this dog now? Please don’t tell me our system failed again and allowed this dog to go back to this HORRIBLE CARELESS woman. And this woman is a nurse who is supposed to actually care???!!!
what happened to the dog?
If the Government would do their Job and undertake Laws to protect Domestic Animals with sufficient penalty’s and Jail time much of thisd would stop. Also registyer all Pets and document them when purchasing the animals of face Fines.
A true selfish piece of garbage. I hope that innocent pup now has a better life. Animals are not disposable, but that minor slap on the wrist certainly doesn’t send much of a message or will it do much to change her heartlessness.
