Jacksonville, FL – A 21-year-old woman is facing multiple animal cruelty charges stemming from her abandonment of four puppies in a Jacksonville apartment. As reported by Action News Jax, Jada Samone Warren was arrested after police found three dead puppies in a cage, and one lethargic, malnourished dog, clinging to life, in a LaBelle Street apartment.
Warren admitted that she was responsible for the dogs and that she had left them “unattended” for several days. Investigators stated the dogs had no access to food or water while Warren was away. WOKV News reports that two of the puppies, desperate for food, tried to eat the first puppy that died.
The surviving dog was suffering from parasites, dehydrations and malnutrition. Warren is charged with three counts of aggravated animal cruelty and one count of cruelty to animals.
