San Francisco, CA – Animal control officials in San Francisco have reached out to the public for help with a disturbing case of animal cruelty. On July 21, Anima Care & Control San Francisco posted a video showing a man chasing after a racoon with a blowtorch.
The agency writes:
WARNING: VIDEO SHOWS CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
San Francisco Animal Control Officers are looking for information about an individual caught on camera abusing a raccoon. This happened in Mission Terrace.

Rebecca Fenson, a supervisor with Animal Care and Control, said:
“(The man) is holding what appears to be a blowtorch. He’s chasing the raccoon and it’s trying to get away from him. It sort of turns around and looks, then turns again to get away, and the man’s arm is outstretched with this blowtorch. The raccoon does appear to already have a burn scar on his back at that time. And then the unidentified person runs away.”
