Auburn, Maine – Two people are facing charges following the discovery of a disturbing situation at an Auburn home located on Seventh Street. According to the Auburn Police Department, rescuers seized 55 cats from a residence that has since been deemed uninhabitable because of “dire living” conditions inside the house. One cat was found deceased.
“The seized cats are being medically evaluated and housed at various animal shelters throughout the state,” police said. “Veterinary services are being provided by the Maine Department of Agriculture.”
Police have charged 40-year-old Jeffrey Bartos and 35-year-old Miranda Loggan with animal cruelty.
The surviving cats were taken to various area shelters for care, including the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society and the Animal Refuge League of Portland.

THIS is a perfect example of WHY I keep writing the House and Senate of Washington DC!! I write them and tell them of the hardships that cats have, and now there is 50 that will need homes!! There is over 3 million dogs in the U.S. that need homes and are killed every year!! I HATE POUNDS, because of this!! I have written many times to suggest this:: 1-Have every dog and cat spayed and neutered for FREE!! This is a low cost thing and should not be let go, and this is the only way I can think of to get the dogs and cats to the VETS!!! 2-While they are there, MAKE IT A LAW, every dog and cat must be MICROCHIPPED and REGISTERED, AND an owner’s name must be put down!! Only until they are given away or sold do they change OWNERS!!! The Microchip # and Registration goes with them!! AND to the ones that sell the puppies, that Microchip and Registration goes to the new owner!! All other dogs and cats HAVE to be taken to the VET and be Neutered and Spayed, Microchipped and Registered!!
This society is going to hell!! One thing for sure….with these kinds of beings (you can’t call them humans) the human race is going to be exterminated and all at their own hands. I cannot imagine what the planet is going to look like with these kind of people living in it. I am glad I don’t have much more time on this earth. It sickens me to the core to see what so-called humans are doing to innocent beings. They are not humans!! They ARE the animals on this planet….not the four-legged innocents. God needs to destroy all the evil in this world.
