Auburn, WA – A western Washington animal shelter is over capacity after taking in a staggering 82 dogs from one person. The Auburn Valley Humane Society has reached out to the public for assistance after taking the surrendered dogs into their care:
Community, we need your help! 🚨
Last night, Auburn Valley Humane Society worked alongside the Auburn Police Department, led by Animal Control Officer Ray Peckham, in a large-scale animal surrender. On site, our team processed intakes for 82 dogs. With our shelter already over capacity, this was a tremendous undertaking.
Noting that an additional 17 dogs went to Seattle Humane.
According to the animal welfare agency, the dogs were well-cared for by their owner, but living in a troubling situation that got out of hand. Aside from flea infestations and skin issues, the dogs are of a healthy weight.
The shelter has options for people interested in lending a hand:

Those sweet little innocent faces. I so wish I could take in one of those sweet pups.
The trouble is that when we “see something, say something” regarding hoarders and such, the agencies in power very often shirk their duties. They rarely nip these things in the bud before the animals multiply in number to this degree. Animal control & “care” depts. would rather look the other way and demand that private citizens gather evidence for them, and even when we do, they always need “more.” As if we can do as much or more investigating as they’re AUTHORIZED to do. Sickening.
It sounds like this person loves them and was in way over his/her head with the number. I hope and pray that each and every one of those angels get his/her perfect forever home and family or person.
Until people stop being allowed to walk away from the mess they create for everyone else to deal with cleaning up it will continue. Garner wages, put leins on property, we need to start doing whatever it takes to stop the pointless suffering and death. I don’t care what their intentions are when their actions lead to misery. The excuses grew old long ago.
I hope the person that surrendered the dogs is not longer allowed to legally own another dog or pet.
“no longer” ,not “not longer”
