Shelter At Capacity And Gorgeous Pup Is Cleared To Be Euthanized

Update 11/2/2023: This dog has an adoption hold!

San Antonio, TX – A 10-month-old pup, who has been held at a San Antonio animal shelter for just four days, is facing death because the shelter is at capacity. The German shepherd was found and taken to San Antonio Animal Care Services facility.

On Monday afternoon, the San Antonio Urgents & Adoptables Facebook page wrote:

⚠️Due to kennel capacity this pet will be 💀killed 🤦‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️without confirmed placement. ⚠️

At 10 months of age, the pup has her entire life ahead of her. A life to enjoy going for walks, chasing after Frisbees, and snuggling with her family.

But she will never have the chance to enjoy her life if she isn’t adopted or rescued in time. Please share her information and help her find the help she needs to survive.

Find the adoption link here.

  1. This place is not a shelter, it’s a slaughterhouse. This beautiful pup deserves to live her life. I volunteered at a no kill shelter and there are options for finding her a home. Reach out to shelters in the north. Killing is never an answer!

  2. Any shelter that takes an animal in, cares 4 it then decides 2 euthanize it should be shut down. I cannot believe that anyone with a heart could even consider working in a establishment like this.

This is horrific as we all know.
It is the same situation witht the New York City Animal Care and Controls with 3 locations. They are a HIGH KILL SHELTER.
They do not care if the animal is a a few months old These are slaughter houses. These are evil people.

  6. The blame for this suffering falls on every peron who ordered and paid for a pedigree. Where’s the diversity, equity and inclusion we hear so much about?? This wont stop until buying animals stops. ADOPT !

  7. Shelters are overwhelmed with strays and animal dumps. The monsters that dump their animals are completely responsible as well as greedy breeders! I do not condone just using euthanasia at a shelter however, money is tight and not many people foster. So it’s time to make the monsters( buyers of dogs who decide they don’t want, and can’t afford and don’t have time for, their bought dog),and breeders of dogs pay for this. Breeders line their pockets and seldomly care where their dogs go! So where can all the lost, stray and unwanted dogs go? To small under staffed and underpaid shelters? The problem lies in the fact that there are too many unwanted dogs and not enough people to care for them. We need to address this issue and stop blaming those trying to help.Don’t lose sight of the real perpetrators of animal euthanasia. Stupid monsters disguised as humans!

    • I agree! Blame the irresponsible owners and breeders!! Also fully blame your government representatives for not funding shelters and not enacting spay and neuter laws and animal abuse laws

    • LR — Listen — The purpose of creating and maintain Shelters is to HELP society care for our Animals — if a private citizen is irresponsible with their Animals, Shelters MUST step in and be RESPONSIBLE by holding and caring for Animals — Shelters must SETUP their entities whereby we all benefit, Humans and Animals alike — Besides Employees, Shelters must network with Volunteers, Fosters who greatly benefit the situation until Animal gets a loving Home — also, set up GOFUNDME accounts to help with costs.

  8. I just got this email as well. I see a few people that would have taken this beautiful dog. This dog should have been picked up and taken to a no kill place. What a beautiful little dog. My heart is so sad

  11. I really hate shelters like this ,they don’t give them a chance to find a family. They are killing shelters, not shelters. I rescued 2 dogs from shelter and all together I have three dogs. I will take this dog, but I know he’s in Texas and I know sometimes they don’t transfer dogs, hopefully somebody’s gonna save him 🙏❤️

  12. San Antonio at it again. Highest kill rate in the NATION and PROUD OF IT !!! Mayor Ron Nirenburg and animal control Shannon Sims, both likely masturbate during an innocent animal being euthanized you know, just to get the full orgasmic effect. The sooner these two go to hell, will be a step in the right direction.

  13. That San Antonio shelter is a disgrace! A shelter should be a safe haven for animals in need! Please get all the dogs out of that horror place! Their lives are in danger with these people!
