Senior Dog Howls for Deceased Owner As She Waits to be Saved at Shelter

The update you all wanted!! Sapphire is free! She’ll never know lonely again! Our first step is to get her home and comfortable! The next step will be a vet visit, then to our groomer! We want to ensure her joints are ok before putting her through a long and much needed groom! Welcome to your forever sweet girl!!!🩷

Anderson, South Carolina – A beautiful dog named Sapphire is howling for her deceased owner from inside of her kennel run at the Anderson County PAWS facility. The senior dog did not ask to lose her home, and she certainly did not ask to wind up in an unfamiliar animal shelter, but that is what fate dealt her.

Now, the shelter staff is desperately searching for a loving person to take her in.

Sapphire is clearly overweight and in need of a good diet, and gentle exercise to help her feel better. But most of all, she is in need of a home of her own with someone who can assure her that things will be okay.
