Manhattan, New York – At nine years of age, a senior cat named Bella finds herself homeless and in need of rescue from a busy New York City Animal Care Center. Bella’s owner had “conflict” between her cat and dog and decided the dog could stay, but Bella had to leave.
Now, Bella is urgently in need of help. According to shelter staff, she has developed an upper respiratory infection, and she is struggling at the facility. A volunteer noted that Bella is a “sensitive soul” who “needs time to decompress.” Though Bella is clearly lonely and confused, she still enjoys the gentle touch of a volunteer’s hand, and the soft voice of a friendly visitor.

At this stage of her life, Bella should be lounging on the couch or seeking out sunny spots in a home. She should be living a life of luxury, not sitting in an unfamiliar cage, with nothing or no one to comfort her.
Bella’s profile indicates that she needs “emergency placement” and this means that time is of the essence.
Please share Bella’s information and help her find her way out of this facility, and into a home where she can thrive.
