Hillsborough County, FL – A large reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever tied a dog’s legs together and abandoned him on the side of a road in Ruskin, Florida. The dog managed to get his front legs out of the constraints and made his way to a homeowner’s house, reports Fox 13 News.
The two-year-old mixed breed dog, found on September 3, was taken to the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center where he is reported to be doing well.
PETA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of whoever is behind the cruel act. PETA Vice President Heather Carlson said:
“This dog depended on someone to keep him safe but was instead tied up and discarded on the side of the road like trash, and it’s only thanks to his remarkable resolve that he didn’t die there. PETA urges anyone who has information about this case to come forward immediately before the individual responsible hurts someone else.”
Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the Hillsborough County Animal Control at (813) 744-5660.
