Detroit, Oregon – Earlier this month, members of the Oregon Humane Society’s Technical Animal Rescue Team were able to save a 100-lb dog named Wolfie. According to the animal welfare agency, the German shepherd disappeared while on a camping trip with his family.
A search led to Wolfie at the bottom of a 500-foot canyon, where he was unable to climb out and apparently suffering from a hip injury.

Thanks to a team effort, the stranded dog was accessed and loaded onto a rescue basket stretcher and carried out of the canyon. The shelter organization said Wolfie was reunited with his family, with no long-term injuries:
On the scene, OHSTAR called Marion County Search and Rescue and Marion County Sheriff’s Office for backup. Their President and 12 incredible volunteers arrived within hours and helped turn this mission into a success.
Thanks to this amazing team effort, Wolfie is safe at home, recovering with no long-term injuries. ❤️
Great work!
