Wasco, CA – On August 23, a dog described as “quiet and affectionate,” is scheduled to be put to sleep. The young dog’s name is Dodger and he is said to be “friendly and great” with staff and other dogs.
Dodger is at the Wasco Animal Shelter, where he and other unwanted dogs are facing the untimely end of their lives because the facility is full. On Monday, the volunteer-run Facebook page, Wasco Animal Shelter Volunteer Crusaders, said:
Scheduled To Be PUT TO SLEEP end of day Weds August 23rd
***DOG FRIENDLY*** DODGER is approximately a 2-3 year old, Male, Husky who is Quiet, Affectionate, Friendly and great with staff and other dogs. Came in as a stray.
Dodger has done nothing to deserve his fate. Nothing but being owned by an irresponsible owner. Please help save Dodger’s life by sharing his adoption information. The clock in ticking and time is not on his side.
ADOPTION PRICE is $95 for all dogs. This includes Spay/Neuter, Rabies vaccine, and First Distemper/Parvo Vaccine.

Putting any animal down due to the lack of a owners heart is despicable and the owner is the one who should be euthanized not the poor innocent animal who only wants to live and give love to someone- this makes me absolutely sick. Wishing a terrible death to the person who abandoned Dodger!!!! I pray for Dodger and his well being. On east coast and can’t Help this adorable pup🥲
Absolutely agree. This poor pup not even given a chance at life. I think those workers are in the wrong line of work 🤬🤬🤬 u need to be empathic and love animals 😥😥 despicable is right
No kill shelters existing and work. That needs to be the model to replace all the high kill shelters where most pets enter but don’t exit. And this poor dog had a home, but was dumped for whatever reason. I agree the owner should be euthanized and if not at least banned from ever owning another pet again. Once you dump, it’s over, no more pets ever in your care. You have shown your true colors. Pets are family members. Would you dump your son because he acted out or you decided to didn’t want to feed him anymore?
I am willing to pay the adoption fee and whatever else is needed for someone to foster or adopt this poor dog!❤️

I assume you have to get him. They don’t have delivery service. People don’t say you’ll the him if your not going to so someone who would then doesn’t and the poor fur baby with no time left pays with his life.

Don’t say something you don’t mean. If you wanted to save the dog you would have already contacted the shelter and made arrangements to go and get him. Posting a comment that you want him won’t save him. Less talk and more action.
