Humble, TX – A puppy strangled himself to death minutes after being tied up and abandoned in Humble, Texas. According to the Humble Police Department, a woman was captured on video tying the pup to a dumpster and walking away.
Five days ago, the authorities wrote a public Facebook post about the suspect, and the cruel incident:
She appears to be a black female wearing grey sweatpants, a pink sweatshirt, a white hat and white slides for shoes. She was recorded on video walking from First St. in Humble onto Dennis Street to the City of Humble Animal Shelter located at 240 Dennis St. She proceeded to tie the dog who was struggling to the dumpster with a piece of orange 550 cord around his neck.
Describing the heartbreaking manner in which the pup died:
The dog was struggling and thrashing while she did this. the dog is a young (6-8 month old) pitbull mix dog, tan and white in color. Once the dog was tied, you can watch it struggling, the suspect never looked back. The dog was unconscious and dead within 2 minutes, the suspect is seen in the video after the male puppy stops twitching.

That was pretty rude when talking about my state of Texas ! This happens all over the country, there is no state that is without animal cruelty. My state of Texas has some of the best animal welfare laws in the country. We also have passed laws that Any kind of animal cruelty will be a Class Felony with jail time and up to a $10,000 fine ! Please don’t blame Texas for this evil woman !
It’s not only about the laws , what matters a lot is how the law is being enforced.
right… there are many laws on the books already that are not enforced…. and the justice system is a joke when dealing with animal abuse cases….
Sorry Ellen but I have to agree that there’s a real epidemic when it comes to abandoned and abused animals in Texas that seems to surpass other states. While I agree with you that there are animal abusers everywhere, I read about more abandoned and abused animals being discarded in major Texas cities like Dallas and Houston than elsewhere. Not sure why but we definitely need to do better!
I’m sure you’re right, but I have to say that 85% of stories of animal abuse or abandonment that I read or hear about , happen to be from Texas or CA. It could be that those are the largest states ?

This does seem to be a new “thing” all over the country. Don’t want your dog anymore? Just let it loose or tie it to a post and hope someone helps it. Then just walk away. It’s been happening in New York State, too. This story, though, is particularly henious. Poor little guy.

Someone has to know who she is and they aren’t speaking up. That makes them as guilty as she is. I think the law should also prosecute those who don’t speak up. Otherwise this will never end.
