Tacoma, Washington – On Wednesday, the Tacoma Police Department announced that all cats, to the best of their knowledge, have been rescued from the abandoned sailboat off Owen Beach in Tacoma. In a social media post, the department said their Tacoma Police Marine Services and Animal Control units had been working hard to remove every cat from the vessel.
On Tuesday, the police had stated that all cats were off the boat – bringing the number of rescued cats to 60:
On Wednesday, the department acknowledged that cats can be sneaky, and there could be one or more still hiding…requesting eyes from the public to assist:

The rescued cats are currently in the care of the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County.

Is the owner of the boat responsible for this animal abuse? Hoping the responsible person is found and charges will be pressed. This is a psychopath and needs mental help as well as punishment by the law. Punishment needs to fit the crime so should be severe. This was egregious and deplorable…just like the perpetrator.
I will say it again! Animal abuse laws need to be much stronger and punishments stronger and enforced! Give the abuser the same treatment they inflicted!
What human does this kind of crap! I hope they find who did this and persecute them to the fourth extent of the law! Animal abuse is rampant and getting worse and getting more heinous. Authorities need to crack down on this and make it hurt or it will continue. Please make it hurt Tacoma, Washington.!! They need to learn a tough lesson in jail for a long time.
