Spencer County, Indiana – The Spencer County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about a case of animal cruelty involving a dog who was tied to a pole and shot in the head. According to the sheriff’s office, the red Doberman pinscher was found in a remote area near County Road 400 North, West of Grandview on October 31.
The authorities detail the grim findings:
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a red Doberman Pinscher lying on its side, deceased, and tied to a underground pipeline indicator pole. Preliminary investigation appears the animal suffered at least one gunshot wound to the head. Evidence at the scene suggests the dog was brought to this secluded location, tied to the pole using a new collar and leash, and then fatally shot.

The sheriff’s office said, “The Doberman appeared to be a young, yet full-sized, adult and in otherwise good physical condition. He was scanned for a microchip but one was not located at the scene.”
Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the sheriff’s office to make a report:
The Spencer County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of the dog or any individual who may have information related to this case. Anyone with information is urged to contact Deputy Jon Cain with the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office at 812-649-2286 or submit a tip anonymously through Spencer County Sheriff’s App.
