Wake County, NC – Two people are facing charges after a feline house of horrors was found at their residence on Cass Holt Road. As reported by ABC 11 News, investigators determined that Samuel Peri, 47, and Angela Honan, 52, owned the house where 22 ailing cats were living; 17 of those cats had to be euthanized. Investigators also found the bodies of 16 cats on the property.
Dr. Jenn Federico, with Wake County Animal Control, said the surviving cats were “all hiding and terrified” when rescuers entered the residence. Federico described the squalid conditions inside the residence, stating:
“There were feces on the countertops and on top of the refrigerator. There was garbage on the floor.”
Peri and Honan were booked into the Wake County Detention Center; they are facing multiple charges, including cruelty to animals, abandonment of animals and failure to vaccinate against rabies.
The surviving kittens are receiving care from a rescue facility.

Look into their sweet little eyes of those kittens. how anybody would abuse, neglect and basically allow a animal to become so sick be or she dies without ever having any medical treatment is awful. Whether they were hoarders or not or shitty breeders or overwhelmed rescuers there’s no excuse for animals suffering. God knows exactly how the other cats died. Animal control must continue to monitor these people because they will just acquire more cats. let these people be sentenced to jail time, be banned from ever owning another pet and also serve some kind of community service picking up trash along the side of the road and dog poop at local parks. They need to be taught how to clean and atone for their crimes at the same time.

This has been happening over and over again the fact that these despicable and evil humans are never held accountable for the unimaginable suffering they are responsible for, and the authorities fail to see sentient living beings, that suffer pain no different from us, and the courts’ system has shown its ignorance by not prosecuting these disciples of evil.
They ought to be charged with murder. I am tired of the wimpy charge of cruelty to animals who have been abused and/or killed. It demeans what they endure when not equated with people who are murdered. They suffering is no less nor are there lives which are stolen.

Cats, some experts say, are MORE sensitive than humans. They’re certainly more sensitive than most humans I’ve seen/heard of/encountered. They give unconditional loyalty and love. They are innocent, blameless and vulnerable. I advocate for capital punishment for anyone wilfully harming any cat, as was law in ancient Egypt, a far more highly evolved society than any currently on earth.
As we do not yet have this law, I urge maximum punitive action be taken for each and every count against this bearded pair.

The governments have a responsability to protect Humans and Animals through laws. Its time the laws had teeth to bite those tyhat abuse animals. Put them all in Jail.

Animal abuse has become rampant. Stronger sentences including prison time is needed as a deterrent. There should be a no tolerant law in all cases. Parents must learn the signs of early abuse to animals to stop it from continuing as they turn into adults
