Flagler County, FL – A 21-foot orca has died after washing ashore in Palm Coast Wednesday morning. The female whale will undergo a necropsy to help determine her cause of death.
On Wednesday afternoon, Flagler County Government’s Facebook page said:
As most of you are aware, we are sad to report that a female orca was beached at the south end of Jungle Hut beach in Flagler County today. SeaWorld will be performing her necropsy to establish the cause of her death. We want to thank our Flagler County staff who came together in order to assist SeaWorld as they moved this 7,000lb whale off the shore and on the road to Orlando.
With the help of the Public Works Department, the whale was removed from the area. Several agencies participated in the removal effort. The agency said:
Thank you to everyone for their assistance during this time.
