Peoria, Arizona – Years of complaints led to the discovery of more than 60 dogs living in squalor at a Peoria house. Neighbors report “non-stop barking” and a horrible smell coming from the Morningside Drive house that officials say was “unlivable.”

As reported by AZ Family, the authorities removed dozens of dogs from the house on Wednesday and found three dogs who had died. Peoria Police Officer Kristopher Babros said, “We have been out to this residence over 100 times the past couple years pertaining to several animal related incidents.”
As the investigation continues, officials will determine if animal cruelty charges are warranted. The surviving dogs were taken to various animal control kennels in the area, and care will be coordinated for the rescued dogs in conjunction with the Arizona Humane Society.
